| Seldom do we know what lies beneath our feet… Maverick Inspection can perform Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) surveys, to answer a broad range of subsurface questions. With a very well equipped GPR service department we are able to combine the abilities of a number of similar and complimentary systems to clearly answer the questions our clients may have. Maverick Inspection is located near Edmonton, Alberta and we provide service to Western Canada including Calgary, Red Deer, Fort McMurray, Grande Prairie, Lethbridge, and Medicine Hat. Our most common work is locating conduit and other features in concrete prior to cutting or coring, commercial and industrial utility and line locates, engineering and geophysics support, and non-destructive location of burial sites. All of our systems can be used in many environments, without disturbing other work crews, since they don’t pose a health risk, or hazard. Maverick Inspection Ltd. can help answer engineering questions, such as “How much rebar is in the slab?” or “How thick is the concrete?”. We can tell you where to dig, or more importantly, where not to. |

Shallow system

![]() In a warehouse setting, there was an oily water sump. This sump had a single inlet pipe, but the as-built drawings for the building did not show the locations of the various branch lines feeding the main line. A 1000MHz Ground Penetrating Radar system was used to track, and map the pipes under the warehouse floor, allowing the clients to perform a single concrete removal to inspect the main line, and both main branches, insead of excavating the entire system. A job like this could easily save a client thousands of dollars, and days of unscheduled downtime by localizing the subsurface disturbance to only a small area. |

Maverick Inspection can back up our utility locates, and can identify conduits through the use of our Electromagnetic Utility Locator. Without needing to “clamp on”, we can induce a current in any ferrous line, and track its path quickly and accurately to great depths. When coupled with GPR data you can rest assured that we have no doubt of the accuracy of our locates. |
