Rigid Borescopes

Over the years, Lenox has developed what may be the world's most extensive lines of quality, high performance rigid borescope products. To achieve consistently superior performance, they employ computer-designed optics, stainless steel or aluminum construction, sophisticated in-house lens grinding techniques and highest efficiency coatings throughout the optical path. Optical systems are designed to produce an abundance of near-100%-white light and the highest possible resolution. All feature the highest intensity fiber optic illumination.

The result is a borescope that allows you to view objects more clearly, with excellent color fidelity, at greater distances inside dark cavities. And Lennox has proven it by achieving the highest possible resolution scores in tests, using N.I.S.T. resolution targets. Choose from a variety of probes (direct, forward oblique, to the side or retrospective), magnifications and fields of view, in. diameters from 1 mm to 14 mm, lengths from 3 in. to 144 in. A complete selection of light sources, accessories, camera and video adapters, viewing heads and monitoring equipment are available for all Lenox rigid borescopes.

Swing-Prism Borescopes

The Lenox "Swing-Prism" borescope saves time by letting you quickly view large areas with a single instrument. Their user-friendly features make them an excellent choice for inspecting combustion chambers and other cavities. Instead of providing a fixed field of view like most borescopes, the Swing-Prism lets you view ahead, behind and around (370° circumferentially, 120° longitudinally) the scope without changing its position and without changing scopes. With this capability, a single Swing-Prism borescope can be used in applications that would otherwise need three different scopes: right angle, retrospective and forward oblique. These units are used in numerous applications, particularly in the aviation, automotive, power, petrochemical and manufacturing industries. All Lenox Swing-Prism units are video and digital compatible.

Autoscopes

Developed in the mid-1980's, the Lenox Autoscope is a very affordable, (starting at less than $1,000.00) portable battery powered borescope for individuals and organizations involved with servicing of automotive, truck, and small marine and aviation engines. This optical diagnostic tool lets mechanics inspect diesel and gasoline engines, engine cylinders, valves, manifolds, fuel injectors, carburetors, radiators, and body panels without major disassembly, giving them a bright clear magnified image of potential problems. Automotive, truck, marine and small aircraft service departments use the Autoscope to boost service department profits, help them save time and money and improve customer relations by diagnosing problems quickly. The units have also been used as an inspection tool in thousands of industrial applications.

Autoscope provides a probe diameter of either 6 mm or 8 mm, field of view of 70 degrees, focus from 1/4 in. to infinity and working lengths of 9 inches to 15 inches. An optional angled viewer accessory is available at modest cost. The complete visual diagnostic kit includes eyepiece and probe with internal lens and light system, battery pack, battery extension cord and storage/carrying case.

Universal Inspector

The Universal Inspector is a high quality, expandable, fiberoptic borescope system that addresses current and future inspection needs by allowing you to add additional components as needs change. Lenox Universal Inspector will replace up to 18 conventional rigid borescopes with one affordable, convenient, state-of-the-art system. Using this modular system, you can enter through openings as small as 4 mm, go in up to 60 in., and inspect via direct, right angle, forward oblique or retrospective viewing angles with 10º to 85º fields of view and 360º orbital viewing.

Universal Inspector provides a versatile solution of interchangeable components that can be purchased separately as needs change. The heart of the system is the universal eyepiece assembly that includes a universal scope and focus control. Attaching a rotatable objective sleeve (available in right angle, forward oblique and retrospective viewing) completes the system. The system can be quickly expanded and reconfigured by replacing the objective sleeve with one or more thread-on extensions and one of six objective viewing heads.

The Universal Inspector can replace a number of different instruments to provide a complete inspection capability at a significantly lower cost. You can configure a system to meet your immediate needs, then add capabilities by adding in-stock components as your needs change.

Extendable Borescopes

The Lenox extendable borescope is supplied as a complete kit in two models: with a diameter of 23 mm and a working length of 28 in., or with a 35 mm diameter and working length of 53 in. The instruments consist of two sections that are threaded together. When you need to increase the working length, you simply unthread the two sections and add one or more extender sections. By adding extender sections, you can increase the working length up to 1200 in.

Each extendable borescope comes complete with probe body and eyepiece with adjustable focus, right-angle viewing head with objective lens (usually 55° field of view, although fields of view from 15° to 180° are available), variable transformer, spare incandescent lamps (a black light attachment is one of many accessories available) and a fitted protective case. Threaded extender sections are available in 36 in. and 60 in., lengths. And, you can choose from five different optional interchangeable viewing heads. All Lenox extendable borescopes are digital and video adaptable.

Fiberscopes (Flexible Borescopes)

  • For applications with curves or bends where you can't use a rigid borescope
  • Steerable head increases maneuverability
  • Rugged, stainless steel sheath
  • Highest resolution fiber optic technology
  • Diameters from 3.5 mm to 10 mm
  • Lengths from 24 in. to 240 in.
  • 2-way and 4-way articulation
  • Video and digital adaptable

The Lenox fiberscope has solved some of the world's toughest inspection problems, in some of the most inaccessible and inhospitable places. Over the years, they've developed and refined fiberscope technology and taken it to the limit of what optical technology will allow.

Lenox has developed a technique to ensure a highly uniform fiber configuration through the length of the probe, to produce the best possible image resolution and virtually zero distortion. We've also placed the objective lens at the distal tip for problem-free focusing.

For efficient viewing inside even the most complex assemblies, Lenox flexible fiberscopes feature a totally steerable 2 or 4-way articulated tip that allows you to easily manipulate around corners, through pipe bends and past blockages, while ensuring bright, clear viewing of the full range of views inside the inspected piece. All scopes are sealed and waterproof. Diameters range 3.5 mm to 10 mm, with lengths to 240 in.

Optical bundles are protected by completely enclosing them in a housing of flexible stainless steel to let you safely maneuver around the sharpest corners and elbows, without sacrificing either the brightness or sharpness of the image through the eyepiece. Each Lenox fiberscope is furnished complete with rugged case at no additional cost. A large variety of light sources to match your exact needs are available. And, all are digital and video adaptable.
