AUGUST 17th 2017: MAVERICK SPONSORED THE 2017 ALBERTA CONSERVATION ASSOCIATION (ACA) WATERFOWL WARMUP SPORTING CLAYS TEAM CHALLENGE
On Aug 17 2017, Maverick entered a team and sponsored the ACA Waterfowl Warmup Sporting Clays Team Challenge. It was a great social and sporting event, and an excellent spotlight on outdoor activity and conservation. In addition to sponsorship, Maverick provided UAV Aerial photography for the event.
Maverick’s Steven Toner and Ryan Brosda plus industry guests made up Team Maverick. Many of Maverick’s employees and clients are avid outdoor enthusiasts, and we all appreciate that Alberta is not only where we work, but where we live and share ACA’s vision: An Alberta with an abundance and diversity of wildlife, fish and their habitats; where future generations continue to use, enjoy and value our rich outdoor heritage.

April 11, 2017: EAPUOC Safety Seminar & Trade Show, Festival Place, Sherwood Park AB
Thank-you for visiting Maverick’s booth at the EAPUOC (Edmonton Area Pipeline And Utility Operators’ Committee) Safety Seminar & Trade Show. Maverick’s Matt Etherington, James Harrison, and Michelle Tooke were there discussing utility locating and mapping with local stakeholders and contractors.
The Edmonton Area Pipeline and Utility Owners Commission host this safety seminar in which they invite everyone from the excavating community to come and learn on the importance of safety and new technologies being introduced to the industry. Maverick brought a wide range of technologies to show off from GPR aided with RTS positioning to one of our CSA approved explosion proof robotic cameras. The Seminar brought Mike Sullivan, President of Alberta One Call, to talk about the importance of damage prevention to the underground infrastructure and Arthur Nordholm who was involved in the investigation of the Deepwater Horizon Gulf Oil Spill Disaster.
APRIL 4 2017: ABCGA DIG SAFE CONFERENCE in RED DEER, ALBERTA
The ABCGA Conference brought the CFL Grey Cup and keynote speaker Steve Howe who was gravely injured and nearly lost his life in an excavator assisted logging accident. Steve’s speech brought many people to the shocking realization of the toll an injury on the job site can take. Many people left on the brink of tears or sick to their stomach from the powerful words he had to share. His core message “I proceeded to work unsafe, and I knew that, and I have no one to blame but myself.” He did not do his due diligence to complete his job safely and him, his family and those around him paid a hefty cost.
